After decades servicing clients in the currently shrinking publishing industry, this large communications firm required a fresh focus.
As with all of our SMB clients, we sat down with the principal to conduct a top-down review of the company and its assets, and discussed the firm’s vision and future goals. Based on the stated business goals, we worked closely to create a long-term strategic outlook and roadmap for new client acquisition and retention, an online services spin-off, several acquisition plans, existing client profitability, and effective marketing targeted to attract corporate business. Pricing was an issue in this competitive field filled mainly with freelancers, so we emphasized the strength of their large and more experienced delivery team.
After concluding two sales in this new market on our client’s behalf, this proof of concept allowed a conservative client to adopt and employ the new marketing strategy.

A thriving technology start-up was never-the-less encountering growth pains. The founder’s exceptional skill and experience with technology, a desire to maximize client satisfaction and on-going hands-on involvement with every project were foundational to the company’s success, and yet limiting its further growth. The company had tactical successes with several enterprise clients. While revenues were high, profits were minimal, they were ready to expand the consulting staff base and their foothold in the market and to work more strategically with enterprise clients. They turned to us for our full suite of business advisory services.
After an initial top-down review of the company and its assets, we discussed the founder’s future goals and vision. Based on the stated business goals, we worked closely to create a long-term strategic outlook and roadmap for staff growth and retention, lower expenses, improved financial management, and effective marketing support for the burgeoning sales team.
We concluded the engagement by designing a series of one-on-one training sessions, essentially an executive MBA program, for the time-constrained founder and his senior team.

The executive director of this young NGO engaged us to provide communications services, with the support of the board, to expand their market presence and drive donations. The organization lacked both business and communications strategies, relying on creative though ad-hoc tactical promotion, and personal network connections.
We worked with the ED to establish longer-term organizational goals including growth and staffing plans, and set fund-raising goals to support these. To support this desired growth, we located a professional experienced in non-profit fund raising, reworked all marketing materials, including event promotion and support, establishing a senior advisory board of leading scientists, and assisting the ED in more positive promotional efforts.

A public sector health care organization had created a network enabling doctor-to-doctor
communication between urban specialists and remote patients/hospitals/GPs, furthering the
reach of urban health care expertise and enabling doctors to consult remotely on health issues.
In order to use the most cost effective communication mechanism, the organization decided that a
private network would be built using the internet. In order to maintain privacy, security technology
was required to implement this.
Because information was going to be shared between organizations, the privacy policies of all
organizations needed to be amalgamated and to ensure that all policies were met, the most stringent
policy had to apply to all.
